Integrating your Discord server with SellSN
What are the benefits?
Adding the SellSN Discord bot to your server allows you to connect with your customers on a more personal level by adding them to your Discord server of choice and optionally granting them more permissions with a role, here are some more benefits:
- Removal from your server when the customer is blacklisted;
- Automatically add the user to the server with no invite links and;
- Optionally grant them extra permissions depending on the product.
How can I set it up?
It's easy, the system works on a per-product basis so each product can be setup to join a different server or grant a different role, here's a simple guide on how to set the system up.
⚠️ You will need the "Manage server" permission in your Discord server to add the bot and set it up.
Find the product to integrate
Head over to your products section and find the product you wish to integrate with the system and click on "Edit product" when you find the one you want.
Add the bot to your server
Now, scroll down to the bottom of the edit product page and select "Delivery settings" and then "Discord", then click on the "Add bot" button.
You'll be redirected to Discord, then you need to select the server to add the bot to and click "Continue" and then "Authorize".
Awesome, the bot should now be in your server!
Generate a setup key and give it to the bot
Head back over to the previous tab (SellSN) and then click the "Start setup" button to generate a setup key for the bot, copy the setup key and then head over to the Discord server you just added the bot to.
Go into any channel on your Discord server and type /setup and then paste the setup key in the field marked setup-key, you can then optionally pick a role to assign customers when they are added.
⚠️ Ensure the bot's role is above the role you wish to grant customers in the role hierarchy or it will be unable to grant the role to the customer due to insufficient permissions.
Once you've typed the command to your liking, send it by pressing enter on your keyboard, the bot will think for a second and then it should return "The setup process has completed successfully". You can always return back to the product delivery settings to restart the process if you need to change anything.
